Launch the “targeted cultivation plan for tea industry talent”. Guzhang County successively dispatched over 200 agricultural and technical leaders, tea growers, professionals and marketers to attend the training courses of HUNAU, which were related to fields like tea cultivation management, famous green tea and black tea processing and marketing. The training plan was designed to help people enrich industry knowledge, renew marketing concepts and strengthen pioneering spirit.
Make the technology available in rural areas. HUNAU periodically organized activities in remote counties and villages, where experts, professors and selected technical personnel conducted specialized technical training.
Promote the transformation of scientific and technical achievements. The technical innovation transformation system that combines production and research has been established to produce new products including black tea, dark tea and high purity tea polyphenols, greatly increasing the profits.
Deepening cooperation in industrial chain for high-quality development
Build standard organic tea gardens at the front end of the industry chain. The Tea Development and Promotion Association, expert service stations and a green prevention and control system have been put in place.
Develop tea brands at the middle end of the industry chain. With professional technical teams, Guzhang County has established the “Guzhang Maojian” quality standard system and developed a series of geographical indication products such as Guzhang Black Tea, Guzhang Dark Tea and Guzhang White Tea. The popularity and reputation of the Guzhang tea brand have been continuously improved.
Expand marketing channels at the back end of the industrial chain. More than 300 sales outlets have been set up in cities like Changsha, Ji’nan, Beijing and Shanghai. Guzhang County has proactively carried out training in tea technology, publicity, cultural tourism and e-commerce. In addition, it has guided the whole county to build 192 e-commerce service stations at village level and open official flagship stores of “Guzhang Maojian” on Tmall and JD.com.
Deepening cooperation in brand to integrate tea and tourism
Apply for agricultural cultural heritage projects. By strengthening the protection of germplasm resources in ancient tea gardens and tea cultural heritage, Guzhang County has striven to develop itself into an agricultural cultural heritage protection demonstration area in Wuling Mountain, so as to promote the industrial transformation of “Guzhang Maojian” and the high-quality development of tea brands.
Integrate tea with tourism resources. Through exploring, protecting and utilizing culture resources and landscape, Guzhang County has integrated advantageous resources like tea villages, traditional villages and renowned tourism villages. With an emphasis on the combination of tea and tourism, Guzhang County has expanded more channels to increase the income of farmers, collectives and enterprises.
Develop demonstration bases. Guzhang County has built tea tourism demonstration bases as well as popular science and research bases in Xiangxi. It is expected to build 10,000 mu (about 666.67 hectares) of sightseeing ecological organic tea gardens, leisure sightseeing belts and tea tourism demonstration belts, and develop special projects like ecological tour, rural tour and folk tour.
